Ekin Su, born Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu on August 21st 1994, is a TV personality, model and soap actress, best known for her appearance on British reality show Love Island in 2022. She rose to popularity on the show thanks to her fiery romance with Davide Sanclimenti. Unfortunately Ekin and Davide are no longer a couple according to an Instagram post by Davide on Monday 3rd July 2023.

However given her Turkish ancestry, questions have been raised by her fans over whether Ekin-Su is Muslim or not. So we're here to investigate...

Are Ekin-Su's parents Muslim? 🇹🇷

Ekin-Su was raised in Islington, London and is originally of Turkish descent. Her mother, Sezer, is a retired teacher and psychotherapist and also has a son called Arda, who appeared in some episodes of Love Island. Her father, Zekai, is a graphic designer, but not much is known of him.

Even though Turkey is a predominantly Islamic country, with about 99% of the population classed as Hannafi Muslim, it is unknown whether Ekin-Su's parents are also followers of the faith.

So, is Ekin-Su actually Muslim? 🧐

When it comes to her religious beliefs, Ekin-Su has kept her stance private. Unlike other Muslim football players and models like Bella Hadid, Ekin-Su has not posted anything religious on her social media pages, so it's hard to ascertain whether she follows Islam like her Turkish ancestors, or not.

Outside of religion however Ekin-Su has used her platform to engage with her followers and spread positivity as a key message. With her 3 million followers at time of writing, Ekin-Su talks about the price of fame and recently commented that she has no friends any more due to the rise in her profile.

It is important to remember that even though an individual may not have proclaimed their religion in public, it is not up to us to judge whether they are Muslim or not. Indeed it is Allah who is the only judge.

Ekin Su continues to live in Manchester. To find the best halal restaurants in Manchester, click the link and read more!
