First up on my list is Zouk and for good reason! This Indian and Pakistani restaurant is where you'll want to come for the best Asian food. With a cool open kitchen giving you a view of their fresh ingredients, make sure you try their butter chicken bao buns, bottomless eggs benedict, or from 12pm-6pm only on Sundays, their famous halal Sunday Roast.

If you're after halal Italian cuisine then Don Giovanni is the self-proclaimed "Best Italian in Manchester". Take a stroll down Oxford Street, get a table at Don Giovanni's (which has been open since 1984) and choose from halal-labelled house favourites like spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, tagliatelle with meatballs and pollo milanesé.

Etci Mehmet is a must-try for steak lovers. Our group ordered the Special Steak, thinly sliced beef cooked in butter, which came with its own amazing fire show! This is a great halal restaurant to come for special occasions or if it's your first time in Manchester because of the flamboyant dining experience. Try Etci Mehmet if you're looking for a cheaper Salt Bae-esque atmosphere.

If you don't mind travelling a few miles then Remal Restaurant is a halal Lebanese place worth trying. Based 4 miles north west of Manchester, Remal has favourites like Baba Ghanouj and Jawaneh (chicken wings) as well as lamb kofte and baklawa for dessert. Portion sizes are generous and there's a lot of seating area both on ground level and upstairs.

Founded by Bollywood singing legend Asha Bhosle, this fancy Indian restaurant is one of thirteen award winning branches which features culinary delights like chicken tikka samosas, aloo matar tikki, lobster panchopran and an assortment of rich curries. You need to try their Muscat Ghosht which is one of the most tender lamb dishes I've tried. For dessert make sure to opt for the authentic Rasmalai or cooling Pista Kulfi.

Delhi House Cafe brings together Indian cuisine and modern contemporary food culture. With dishes like gunpowder lamb chops and fried chicken drumsticks, this is a great restaurant to go to if it's your first time in Manchester and you want halal meat served with a modern twist. They even serve a butter chicken naan pizza and something called "Not My Burger!" which is an open naan bread burger with Afghan lamb kebabs. Don't forget to finish with a lovely Indian chai or coffee. Delicious!

If Etci Mehmet isn't your thing but you still want a good quality halal steak, then head over to Ribeye Steakhouse, south of Deansgate Canal in the Heart of Manchester. A Wagyu steak will set you back at least £80, so it's on the more expensive side, but if you want more of a halal fine dining option coupled with smoking mocktails, then this is the place to come. Make sure to book in advance as it can get busy on weekends as it's halal only and they don't serve alcohol, making it a popular Muslim haunt.

If it's your first time in Manchester and you've not heard of Archie's before, then consider your next lunch sorted! Archie's is considered one of the best halal restaurants in Manchester thanks to its juicy burgers, halal fast food and Instagrammable pink decor. Unfortunately their Trafford Centre branch is closed for refurb but don't worry because their Oxford Road chain is still open. Make sure to try The Good Burger (3 smashed patties!) or if you're more into halal chicken, the Hot Chick with spicy buttermilk fried chicken. Wash it down with a Classic or Celeb milkshake and you won't be needing dinner.

Halal Mexican restaurants are rare which is why Don Tacos has become such a legendary restaurant in South Manchester. Based on the iconic Wilmslow Road (aka Curry Mile), Don Tacos serves birria-style tacos, halal chicken fajitas, quesadillas, and of course, a large portion of nachos to go with any main you choose. As with any Mexican, it's best to share a few plates if you're dining in a group. One of the reasons for this is their commitment to using the freshest ingredients; their chicken is even sourced locally from a farm in Shropshire. I had super high expectations of Yard & Coop and it didn't disappoint. Make sure to order the Massive Cock Burger (yes, have fun saying that out loud) if you want a double-stacked chicken supreme and order some honey butter waffles on the side.

With a name like Pitmaster Smokehouse you already know that this halal BBQ restaurant is going to be serving you up some barbeque goodness. Based on the bustling Wilmslow Road, Pitmaster has a fully halal menu including 16-hour smoked brisket, slow smoked ribs and burgers. Tattu Manchester is one of the best restaurants to go to for a special occasion, like a birthday, anniversary or graduation, just because of it's amazing decor. Step inside and you'll journey back to Ancient Eastern times and sample contemporary Chinese cuisine. Not all of their dishes are halal, last time we checked it was just the chicken, so you will need to ask a waiter to confirm. We tried the Wok Fired Angry Bird and Chinese Barbeque Chicken. This is one of Manchester's top halal fancy restaurants, situated next door to The Ivy.

Usually it's hard to find halal Japanese food which is why Sakura is such a unique dining find.
